An intimate journey in sound, revolving around a centre. This centre reveals itself through exploration around a central point, yet the centre is never reached, only illuminated by movement around it. The closer its proximity appears to become, the deeper it reaches, forcing you to continually orient yourself in relation to it.
A continuum, taking the discourse, oscillating between a tension of emotions, cognition and consciousness. Only ever being able to glimpsing at where, why, how and what might be.
Every now and then the clouds break and the sun shines through, exciting us. This excitement reveals with it our potential, a glimpse of what could be. For a moment the link between our conscious and unconscious minds seem to wear thin, our thoughts become more lucid, less patterned, we glide between different levels of consciousness more freely than usual and are able to notice the interconnected nature of all things much more clearly. With this comes a feeling of harmony, awestruck by infinite potential, a blissfulness balanced by a renewed sense of responsibility for the world in which we inhabit.
The use for words become minimal, as words only seem to inhibit this sensation, our primordial nature leads us away from thinking and further into feeling. Taste seems fuller, sound seems richer, the view appears brighter, our thirsty desires seem to wither and we need very little to experience the feeling of being fully alive.
The shapes of music, express the patterns of living things, all that is living in our inner worlds. Patterns of behaviour and thought and the counter-intuitive nature of our perceptions. Music contains within it an expression of this reality and we interpret these patterns unconsciously. Our minds have the ability to connect the dots, expanding our thinking and in turn, ourselves. It’s expansive nature often reveals the more mysterious possibilities when the unusual intersect. Combustion happens and new worlds are born. Worlds in which premonitions about premonitions or dreams about dreams, premonitions about dreams or dreams about premonitions are possible…….
I believe and therefore I act as if sound and music is very much alive and existing with or without human experience. As if it has its own 'will', its own motivations, its own self organising principles, aimed towards a transformation. As humans we must express gratitude for our collision with sound.
Sound changes the shape of a room in this way.
